Refresh your sofa or chair with made to measure square and rectangle feather or fibre seat cushion interiors, designed to give tired covers a fuller, softer and more relaxed look.
This product is for customers who already have cushion covers and need new interiors made to fit. Simply enter your cushion cover sizes into the calculator boxes provided, choose your preferred filling type, and we will calculate the correct amount of feather or fibre filling required for your cushion.
Unlike foam interiors, feather and fibre cushions are designed to sit with a softer, plumper loft. They create a fuller-looking cushion with a more relaxed finish, making them ideal for traditional sofas, loose-cover furniture, casual seating and customers who prefer a softer sit rather than the firmer, more structured feel of foam.
This square and rectangle seat cushion range includes six filling choices, giving you options for comfort, look, support and budget.
A quality feather filling option with a traditional soft feel and good natural loft. Ideal for customers who want a relaxed, plump cushion with a classic feather finish.
A premium blend containing 85% feather and 15% down, giving a softer, more luxurious cushion feel. A good choice where comfort and a fuller appearance are the main priorities.
A softer, more luxurious blend containing 70% feather and 30% down. This option provides a fuller, more indulgent feel with a relaxed, premium finish.
A synthetic fibre option designed for customers who prefer a feather-free cushion interior. Hollow fibre provides a soft, plump feel and is suitable for seat cushions where a lighter, fibre-filled finish is required.
Although this product is aimed at square and rectangle seat cushions, hollow fibre back cushion filling is also available within the wider feather and fibre range for customers matching seat and back cushion interiors.
For the most accurate result, measure your empty cushion cover, not the old cushion interior.
Lay the cover flat and measure seam to seam across the width and depth. Do not pull the cover tight, and do not measure the old feather, fibre or foam insert, as old interiors can become misshapen, compressed or stretched over time.
Enter the cushion cover measurements into the calculator boxes provided. We will then use those cover sizes to calculate the correct amount of filling needed to create the right finished cushion loft.

Foam and feather/fibre cushions behave very differently. Foam is cut to a fixed size and gives a firmer, more structured shape. Feather and fibre fillings need room to loft, move and settle inside the cover. In some cases, the correct sizing may need adjusting depending on the cover style, border width, fabric type and the level of fullness you want.
A quick conversation before ordering can help avoid a cushion that feels too full, too flat or simply wrong for the cover. It is old-fashioned advice, but good advice: measure twice, order once.
Feather and fibre cushion interiors are usually made to look fuller than foam equivalents. Rather than simply copying the thickness of an old foam pad, we estimate the required loft based on the cushion cover size and border depth.
As a guide, a cushion cover with a 7.5cm border may require a finished cushion loft of around 15cm to achieve the correct plump appearance. This is because feather and fibre fillings compress, settle and spread differently from foam.
That is why we ask customers to enter the actual cushion cover sizes into the calculator. We then internally calculate the correct level of filling needed to suit the cover, rather than expecting customers to work out the filling volume themselves.
Feather and fibre cushions need regular care. They are not fit-and-forget products like firmer foam interiors.
To keep them looking and feeling their best, you should plump, shake and turn them daily. This helps redistribute the filling, maintain support, restore shape and prevent the cushion from becoming flat or uneven.
This is completely normal for feather and fibre cushions. If you want a very structured cushion with minimal maintenance, foam may be the better option. If you prefer a softer, fuller, more relaxed cushion and are happy to dress it regularly, feather or fibre is a lovely choice.

Choose hollow fibre if you want:
For firmer support, sharper edges or a more structured sit, you may be better suited to foam replacement cushion interiors instead.
If you are unsure which filling to choose, or you are changing from foam to feather or fibre, please contact us before placing your order. We can advise on sizing, filling choice and the best option for your cushion covers.
Feather and fibre cushions can transform the look and feel of a sofa, but the right result depends on the correct measurements, the right filling and realistic expectations about daily plumping and maintenance.
